HO Scale Trains at the 2009 Iowa State Fair
is VERY big, perhaps the largest HO scale layout I’ve ever seen. It is quite impressive! This video features all of the trains that were operating when I went through the building, two of the most notable trains being Amtrak’s California Zephyr (as it was in the 1990’s) and a mixed freight train led by the BNSF “Barfbonnet” SD70MAC. Heh- you’d said, when I posted footage of the equipment test for that Zephyr train, that it needed to run at this year’s fair, and as you can see, it did! I’ve just got my video of it up on YouTube. The last day I was there added more cars for a combined CZ/Desert Wind consist- some footage of that is included near the end.
